Hey there ;)
I wanted to share something with you! Lately, I became pretty much obsessed with embroidery bracelets - friendship bracelets, as everyone seems to call them.
When I mentioned it to a friend of mine, she laughed and told me, she can bring her niece over to give me some tips... Awww we had a good laugh..
But... I absolutely love them!
All the colors, patterns, and cute accessories...
So I will keep on making them despite the general public view ;)
Luckily, most of my family members seem to be quite fond of these, so my very first few bracelets were made for them.
Anyhow, if you are familiar with the embroidery, you will in fact agree with me that once you buy your first thread you will never stop looking for new colors or patterns. I have experience that myself! I am constantly looking for new shades or thread types. So far I have came across few different types including standard cotton threads, metallic threads or even ombre threads!
I wouldn't be myself if I didn't try to get it all organized in some particular way.
Warning: I can be a neat freak!
I am sure you will get the idea following this blog ;)
So, I purchased a plastic storage box with divided sections. It also came with 100 cardboard squares to be wrapped around individually with each embroidery thread I got. I find it so much easier to use the little embroidery squares, as otherwise the thread gets tangled up and I waste a lot of time trying to untie the knots.. If only it was as easy as making the knots in the first place!!
A lot of patience is needed for this!! But, if you don't have the patience, then I would recommend using the squares as I did! Simple, but genius idea!
Once I got all the threads wrapped up, I could finally put them in a specific order! And it looks great!

This is my current embroidery stash!
Tip: Using the cardboard squares allows to achieve neat and tidy storage. The thread takes up very little spaces when wrapped around the square and it is easier to see what colors you have!
Plus... it is extremely satisfying sight for neat and organized freaks as me!! So win win!!
OK, so let's go back to the ACTUAL subject of this post - bracelets!
As I am only a newbie (I mean, I use to make thousands of them when I was a teen myself, but that was a long time ago... ), I am still trying to come up with the best method that works for me. For example, I found it hard to tie them up at the end in a way that is presentable.. So I made many attempts, with some obvious failures as you might guess!! But I think I am very close in developing my personal starting and finishing method, that provides quite easy tying "mechanism" ..
So here are some pictures of my latest bracelet, with "starting and finishing" method that seems to be nice and neat and easy to handle!!
Above picture shows a bracelet made out of only one type of embroidery thread - ombre.
I quite like the shading, however it might be slightly more difficult to work with 6 strands of same color thread.
But practice is the key!
That's the little story of my new obsession!! You will be hearing more, and more, and probably little bit more on EMBROIDERY!
I hope you enjoyed the post!
